At Solutions Massage Therapy, I use a holistic approach to cater to my client’s specific needs. In any given massage, I may use one or all of the techniques described below to achieve your health goals. Specific requests are always welcome.
-
Deep tissue massage is a type of therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders. Some of the same strokes are used as in Swedish or Therapeutic Massage, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain.
-
Sports massage helps to relieve muscle tightness, increases flexibility, and improves circulation to the muscle tissues. It is similar to deep tissue massage but differs in that it targets specific hypertonic, or tight, areas of the body. These problematic areas often result from overuse or repetitive movements.
-
Swedish or Therapeutic style massage is a type of therapy that utilizes longer, more fluid strokes. It is a very relaxing and gentle therapy that leaves you feeling refreshed, helps relieve stress and reduce pain.
-
Tui na is a type of Chinese massage that uses acupressure between the joints to bring the body into balance. The name comes from the Chinese words “tui”, which means to push, and “na”, which means to lift and squeeze.
In Tui na, an acupressure technique is applied to affect the flow of energy at different points in the body, thus facilitating the healing process. It removes blockages and keeps energy moving through the meridians as well as the muscles.
-
In reflexology, pressure is applied to the feet and hands based on a system of reflex areas. These areas correspond to specific organs, glands, and parts of the body.
Reflexology is a non-invasive way of relieving:
Back pain
Stress
Tension
Headaches
Digestive disorders
Hormonal imbalances
In a reflexology session, the client is asked to wear loose fitting clothing and need only remove socks and shoes. If a client wishes, reflexology may be added to their any regular massage session.
-
This involves the use of essential oils, known for their many healing properties, applied purposefully throughout the massage to specific areas of the body.

Human touch is so important in a person's life, especially when they are experiencing great pain or are in the last stages of their life. I have worked with people diagnosed with ALS, battling cancer, and recovering from surgery or stroke. Are you looking to say thank you to your employees, treat your wedding party on the big day, or give family and friends the chance to relax during your vacation in the mountains? I will travel to your business, wedding event, or vacation home. Please feel free to contact me about group rates and the details of your event.
